Creamy Banana-oat Smoothie

Healthy smoothie recipe with bananas

Most people enjoy oats for breakfast in a bowl of hot oatmeal. However, oats also work wonderfully in smoothies – creating a thick and creamy texture while also providing protein and fiber to keep you fuller for longer.

And the health benefits don’t just stop there!  Oatmeal contains soluble fiber that reduces the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream. Eating whole grains such as oats can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Oats also supply your body with iron, magnesium, and manganese.

Adding oats to your breakfast smoothie makes a quick, well-rounded breakfast that will also leave you feeling full. This smoothie is a delicious way of adding fibre and energy to your body on those hurried mornings…and pretty much every other morning.
